Beach Vacation

Remember at all times

Belongings

In crowded places like beaches, markets, or tourist centers, always keep your belongings in sight and never leave them unattended.

Credit Cards

Use your card at secure establishments and always check that the peso sign ($) appears on the receipt so you don't get charged in USD by mistake.

Bus

The bus costs $12.00 pesos. Try to pay in small denominations and in pesos. And don't throw away your ticket, as it's your travel insurance.

Taxi

Opt for local taxi transportation or use platforms like Itaxi, Uber, or Didi, where you can find the driver's details.

Airport

Book transportation to your hotel in advance. Only use authorized transportation companies. Do not hire the services of street vendors.

Currency exchange

Currency exchange offices have better exchange rates; choose one near your hotel or in a shopping center. Exchange small amounts.

Safe Deposit Box

Keep your jewelry, electronics, money, etc. in the hotel safe. Leave your passport in the safe if you have another form of identification.

Recommendations

Tourist Transit Card

The Tourist Transit Card is a measure implemented to facilitate the mobility of tourists in Cancún, ensuring safe transit. This card offers two courtesy tickets for minor infractions and includes a QR code that directs you to the traffic regulations, currently being translated into several languages for easy reference by tourists. It is important to note that there are three situations not covered by these courtesy tickets: parking in spaces reserved for people with disabilities, driving under the influence of alcohol, and being involved in accidents that cause harm to third parties.

How do you get this card?

This card is provided free of charge when renting a vehicle from authorized car rental agencies. If you didn't receive it upon pickup, be sure to ask the attendant for it or use this digital card.
