Marlin Beach

Marlin Beach

Located at kilometer 13 of Kukulkan Boulevard, just behind the La Isla Cancún shopping mall, Playa Marlín is one of the largest and most popular public beaches in the Hotel Zone. Famous for its soft white sand, turquoise sea, and strong waves, this beach offers a more open and relaxing experience for sea and sun lovers.

How to get there?

You can easily get there by bus R1 or R2 from downtown Cancún. Just ask to get off at Plaza Kukulkán (km 13). From there, there's a signposted public access that takes you directly to the beach. It's also accessible by taxi or bicycle.

Available services

  • Free access to the beach

  • Free parking (limited spaces)

  • Showers and public restrooms (subject to maintenance)

  • Palapas and shaded areas available (limited)

  • Presence of lifeguards at established times

  • Water activities in specific areas (such as parasailing)

  • Shopping centers, restaurants and shops very close by

Recommendations

  • The waves at Playa Marlín can be strong, so it's important to follow the safety flags and avoid entering the water when the red flag is flying.

  • Bring your own umbrella or beach tent, especially on busy days.

  • There are few services on the beach itself, but you can find everything you need just a few steps away in the nearby plazas.

  • Use biodegradable sunscreen to protect marine ecosystems.

  • Avoid bringing loud speakers to respect the relaxed beach atmosphere.
